What are the classes about?
Read the course descriptions on the registration page and learn more about what each class is about.
How are classes taught?
The summer school is primarily virtual at this time. Each class will be taught online. You will receive a confirmation email with the link(s) to your classes. Classes are streamed to our YouTube channel, and we strongly encourage you to utilize the chat function to interact with the instructors and each other.
What ages are classes for?
Classes are appropriate for everyone aged 14 and up.
What if I can’t attend the class live?
That’s perfectly fine. Each registrant will receive a link to the recording upon registration. If the time doesn’t work for you, you can watch any time you’re available to do so. When the session is done, videos are available on YouTube.
How much are the classes?
Classes are pay-what-you-can. We want to increase accessibility and remove financial barriers for all learners. This means if you can’t afford to pay at this time, you do not have to. If you can afford to pay, we welcome your support.
Suggested donations:
$25 per individual class
$45 for a bundle of 2 classes
$65 for a bundle of 3 classes
$90 for a bundle of 4 classes
$200 for the entire curriculum
How do I register for classes?
Go to the registration page and select your preferred option. Please be sure to include your email address so we can reach out to you. Save “info@sankofasummerschool.com” in your contacts so it doesn’t go to spam.
Do I have to be of the African Diaspora to register and participate?
No. People of all races, cultures, ethnicities, and nationalities are welcome to join Sankofa Summer School.
What is the refund policy?
Because the structure is pay-what-you-can, we do not offer refunds and appreciate your donation to our program.
Can I change classes after I register?
You can request a class change up to seven days prior to when your class is scheduled to take place. Simply forward your registration receipt email to info@sankofasummerschool.comto request a change by July 17, 2026.
Can I come to the class late?
Yes. The classes are streamed live but you can join when you’re able and catch the replay after.
I’m having registration issues, what do I do?
If you’re having technical issues with the registration site, contact info@sankofasummerschool.com and clearly describe, in detail, what happened when you encountered a problem. We will do our best to guide you through the process.
